    Rugosa Roses. These very distinctive roses are the result of crossing R. rugosa with garden roses. They form large, dense, often very thorny shrubs with plentiful, deeply veined leaves. The flowers are usually large, opening wide, varying from . 'Thérèse Bugnet', a hybrid rugosa rose, is a vigorous, dense, upright, rounded shrub which typically grows ' tall and as wide.
